When reading online articles I use Hypothesis to highlight interesting passages and add notes. All my highlights, notes, and tags are then synced to my notes app so they can easily be revisited.

Their mission to "bring an open conversation over the whole web" is pretty cool, and the product also has neat features to facilitate group collaboration.
