An interesting start to this article by Cassie Werber, stating what is apparently an accepted axiom:

We’ve been trained to associate our work with our identities, and we seem unable to break free of unhealthy ways of working.

I'm not sure I agree with that, but it remains an interesting problem statement. She then continues into a discussion with Tom Hodgkinson, author of a book called How to Be Free, on how to break free from those unhealthy ways:

His solution is to let go of the idea that full-time work is the only possible route to success, suggesting that the model of the permanent, long-hours job should be scrutinized, and that workers can take their lives into their own hands by resisting its ubiquity.
