Zilingo raises $226M to digitize Asia’s fashion supply chain

Zilingo has flown under the radar in Southeast Asia thanks to numerous reasons, including the bloodbath that is consumer e-commerce, but mostly because it is focused on the business side of e-commerce. While it does operate a fashion e-commerce service, most of its revenue comes from services to merchants, retailers and brands. Zilingo's big vision -- which has helped it get a $900M+ valuation -- is to connect the Asian fashion supply chain digitally, to enable brands or retailers to tap its services to reach manufacturers efficiently and cheaply. One big pitch is the opportunity to develop branded fashion or private labels. Zilingo has some way to go -- it is focusing on the US, right now, for example -- but the concept is to be plumbing behind Asia's fashion supply chain.
