Nanobots Battle Infection from Inside

Researchers at the University of California San Diego have developed an army of bio-coated nanowires capable of treating life-threatening infections in minutes by tricking the toxins into attacking them rather than human cells. The scientists hope the robots will be able to replace antibiotics in fighting certain potentially fatal infections. No word yet on whether these ingenious little decoys can be retrofitted to target fat cells too.
