Renewable energy is no longer a capacity or efficiency problem, but merely a storage problem. I was lucky enough to work with a unique solar project last semester in my Lean Launchpad course at Loyola, and the big problem we kept coming back to was storage. Coincidentally, this week Elon Musk announced that he's not only building the worlds largest lithium ion battery in Australia, he's going to do it in 100 days or it's free. It's going to store energy from a wind farm and power 30,000 homes. The writing is on the wall for the fossil fuel industry, and the disruption and displacement isn't going to be pretty.
