Contrast Foundry

New independent foundry Contrast launched, created by three designers respectively based in Moscow, London and The Hague. Their philosophy? Creating typefaces that support both Latin and Cyrillic from the start, as one always influences the other. Their starting catalog counts three typefaces, of which I particularly like Chimera: intended for display use, the typeface includes 3 high-contrast styles and 2 low-contrast companions. Also, their new site, designed by Russian Studio, makes creative use of blurred effects across inactive areas. Read full story.
