DIY HIV tests go on sale in France

Technology went such a long way from 20 years ago when tests would be expensive and take up to three weeks. For me the question now revolves around the psychological aspects of such a device: how does someone handle the shock of learning they are contaminated when standing in line at the pharmacy or alone at home?

Do-it-yourself HIV tests went on sale in France for the first time in September as part of the government's plan to reduce the incidence of HIV in the country. French company AAZ's Autotest VIH kits will be available in pharmacies for 25 euros.
