BPR Interviews: Paul Graham

I think "earnestness" is massively undervalued in our society. Earnest is never portrayed as cool. But I highly respect it in people and in creative work. Here's how big thinker Paul Graham put it in this interview. Many other good parts of the interview as well, he typically has a lot of insight.

What trait do you look for in founders and/or partners that is undervalued by most others?

Earnestness. This seems a rather Victorian quality to care about, but the founders who end up doing the best are all earnest. Ditto for partners.
