Sephora's connected shop

Sephora opened their first "connected store". It has been interesting to see how the metaphors of the offline world got applied to the online world. Now it's equally fascinating to see how the online world is influencing the offline world back. On the picture below, the client purchases an item by placing it on the reader on the right, then waves a virtual "shopping cart card" on the left. This system allows to display 1/2 of a larger store's references in 1/3rd of the space.
