Calls for safety improvements at crossroads where 13-year-old girl died in crash

It shouldn't come as a surprise that there are calls for improvements to the crossroads where Ingrid Messenger, 13, died earlier this week. The News and Star reports that Lib Dem county and city councillor Trevor Allison plans to take it up with highways bosses:

“I use it regularly and you do have to be so careful at that junction. It’s a straight road for more than a mile. Highways will take it up”

Just among the people I know in Carlisle, there's a few who've had family members or friends narrowly avoid a bad crash on the crossroads at Ivegill, and further up the road at Durdar.
