Alibaba shows off ‘car vending machine’ which will launch in China next year

Consumers will be able to take out cars for three-day test drives from unmanned (and gigantic) vending machines and the Alibaba mobile app. They then return the vehicle or purchase it via Alibaba's Taobao service. Two outlets will open up in January, and Alibaba plans to introduced a number more across China later in the year. Ford may use this strategy to sell electric vehicles in China in the future after agreeing to a wide-ranging partnership with Alibaba last week.
