How Google quietly revved up its very own car company

Not sure what to read into that (Google moving up the food chain again as discussed in the [April 29th](https://www.getrevue.co/profile/laurenthaug/archive/3521) edition of this newsletter?). How often will it happen that someone restarts building cars from scratch and comes up with the world's [best car](http://time.com/3721049/tesla-model-s-consumer-reports-car/)? Unlikely if you ask me. Probably would have been a better outcome for Google had [this deal](http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/apr/21/google-almost-bought-tesla-elon-musk-larry-page) gone through.
