What Kind of Person Fakes Their Voice?

Katie Heaney:

Holmes is obviously guilty of many more serious crimes, but faking one’s voice is just weird, and embarrassing, in much the same way that bad toupees are: they place one’s bodily insecurities center stage. Plus, now she’ll have to do this voice for the rest of her life (?), and it’s all I can think about.

Out of all the endless insanity that is Theranos, I keep coming back to this as well. Regardless of what people knew/didn't know about the business, how on Earth could you take someone speaking with such an obviously fake voice seriously? It's so ridiculous that it's like a call for help. Almost a literal one in that it's audible.
