Dissociated time course between peak torque and total work recovery following bench press training in resistance trained men

Trained men couldn't do as much work for 4 days after a hard bench press workout. Suggests 2x/day frequency may be better in trained men.

"Total word, as a percentage of baseline values, was also less than peak torque at 24, 48 and 96 h after exercise. Additionally, peak torque returned to baseline at 96 h, while total work did not."
