General Type Studio

New York based designer Stéphane Elbaz launched his own independent foundry, General Type, and I can easily say that it's one of my favourites already. Three of his typefaces are currently available to try and buy, but I would like to draw your attention on his latest, Pilat, a mix of Roman Imperial influences and strong, mechanical post-war shapes. The typeface is available in compressed, condensed, narrow, wide and extended versions.

☞ Suggested pairings for Pilat: PS Fournier or Masqualero, which provides a nice contrast, especially the Groove variation.
