School-based mindfulness-based interventions "have a small, statistically significant positive effect on cognitive and socioemotional outcomes." The impact on behavioural or academic outcomes, however, is not significant. The authors conclude that "the evidence from this review urges caution in the enthusiasm for, and widespread adoption of, school-based mindfulness interventions for children and youth."
