Basic Attention Token for YouTube

This is an exciting expansion of the Basic Attention Token, which allows advertisers to pay users for watching advertisements and users to pay creators for content. What's particularly interesting about this application of BAT is how it independently rides on top of existing YouTube infrastructure - Google does not need to approve of an integration or take its cut of transactions; it all happens directly. Thus, a large and powerful platform will be affected in a big way and there's nothing that can be done to stop it.

The Brave browser provides an ad-free YouTube video experience. It also enables a direct monetary relationship between the content creator and their audience. Compensation for YouTube creators no longer needs to be based on vague rules or mercurial algorithms, as users can decide who to compensate. This new ability will especially benefit YouTube creators who have under 10,000 lifetime views, as they do not receive ad revenue from YouTube.
