The premiere of La Reina del Sur was a big hit, reaching a cumulative audience of almost three million total viewers. It ranked as the No. 1 broadcast television show in the U.S. at 10pm among the coveted demographic of adults 18-49, averaging 1.26 million viewers - more than double Univision’s audience. It even outperformed English-language shows on CBS and ABC in that timeslot and was the No. 1 broadcast television program regardless of language among adults 18-34 (495K) in overall primetime, according to Nielsen. Locally, the Telemundo hit "super series" ranked No.1 regardless of language in New York, Miami, Houston and Dallas among adults 18-49.
