France fines Google, Amazon €135m total for slipping ad cookies into people's computers without permission

Everyone around the world knows about the EU Cookie law. But I've not read of much about it being enforced. Katyanna Quach (@katyanna_q) reports France doing its part to protect user privacy by fining tech giants who violated parts of the French Data Protection Act. €100M to Google and €35M to Amazon for slipping cookies onto people's computers even when people declined.
