The push to break up Big Tech, explained

In other words, you can’t both be the owner of a technology platform where people find things and make the things that people find on the platforms. One could, however, easily find flaw with this analogy. It’s true that Major League Baseball relies on neutral umpires to guarantee fair play, but the team owners themselves write the rules of the game and collectively hire and fire the umpires who enforce them. Warren-style platform neutrality might be closer to requiring that Major League Baseball be an entirely distinct business from its 30 constituent franchises rather than being controlled by them.
