Is mindfulness making us ill?

Some people experience panic attacks when trying mindfulness meditation. There's almost no research on this darker side to mindfulness. But in the meantime, it is hailed as a tool to make people more productive under stress. 

I myself have only had good experience with mindfulness meditation. But I will be much more careful recommending it. This is not just a sport that one picks up. And even with sports, one is careful about dangers of injuries etc. 

I guess it's one of the oldest stories in capitalism: you rip off spirituality to squeeze labor even more and find out that shit is more complex and that there are no easy fixes for exploitation.
