Vietnam says Google weighing setting up a local office

Vietnam says Google is considering a local office, but Google's response looks like a no but in the classic 'how can we say no without pissing off this authoritarian regime and spiking our business in the country.' Vietnam is preparing some pretty draconian new cybersecurity laws which would require Google (and Facebook) to open an office and grant authorities access to date. Hence why it is keen on an office and Google most likely isn't.
