Q4 Roundup - Ethereum Blog

Another quarter-end, another roundup of all the progress that the Ethereum foundation and developer community are making towards improving the technology behind Ethereum. Some of the most exciting parts of this update have to do with Casper and sharding; by the end of 2017, alpha versions of each were released and they are currently running live on testnets. To be clear, there's no doubt that the technology at present isn't very good - buggy, slow, inefficient, and possibly insecure. However, it's something functional that can be deployed, tested, iterated, and tested again. That's exactly how progress in software happens.
