Amazon’s Whole Foods Play: Cheaper Kale and Avocado

Amazon also said that its Prime membership program, which costs $99 a year and includes fast shipping time on online orders, a video streaming service and other benefits, will eventually become Whole Foods’ customer rewards program, providing members with further savings in stores. It did not provide any other details about those plans.
Whole Foods’ private label products will become available through Amazon’s various online services and Amazon lockers — which provide automated pickup locations for online orders — will be installed in some Whole Foods markets. Customers will be able to return online orders to Amazon through the lockers.

You have to respect that fact that Amazon is not beating around the bush here. Even in its own press release, it's pretty clear: to anyone in the grocery space, Amazon is coming to eat your lunch -- quite literally
