CME says it's launching bitcoin futures on Dec. 18

Institutional money, large family offices, and the like are clamoring for exposure to the crypto asset class, but so far they’ve had a hard time finding it. People familiar with the technology might be comfortable buying coins individually, but larger purchasers need professional-grade infrastructure before they’re able to enter the market. By launching Bitcoin futures, CME is providing a way for these entities to trade cryptos without actually taking custody of crypto assets.
