Uber teams up with Singapore's top taxi firm

ComfortDelGro, Singapore’s largest taxi company, will buy 51% of Uber’s Singapore car rental unit for $218 million and form a joint venture with the ride-hailing giant. Grab has partnerships with the country's five other providers, but this deal would mean Uber has more taxi partners there. Grab, however, claims 150,000 drivers across all ride types in Singapore. The deal is proof of a new approach to Asia from Uber, which has fallen behind Grab in the region.
