STARKs, Part I

Privacy is a critical yet forthcoming element of blochain technology. So far, zkSNARKs have been developed by the zCash team and the broader community to provide anonymity yet provably accurate transactions. However, zkSNARKs have a relatively high computational overhead and require a "trusted setup" to configure, which impede their use in some respects. While still unproven and in the research phase, zkSTARKs help to address these bottlenecks. A technical read, but an informative one, for where core blockchain technology might be headed.
