Mobile Ad Market to Surpass $100 Billion Next Year

According to a new report from research firm eMarketer, the mobile advertising market is set to hit a major milestone next year: $100 billion. We will be one step closer to matching advertising investments with consumer usage. As shown in the 2014 KPCB presentation below, mobile is the one channel in which there is less investment than attention, while print is experiencing the opposite situation, as the inertia of advertising executives gives that channel way more ad spend than there is consumer attention. Still surprising to see mobile ad at 7.1B in 2014 on the KPCB slides, and hearing that figure will reach 100b in 2016 (double the amount invested in online desktop advertising).
