The downside of startups getting huge attention

A startup founder reflects on his (now folded) company, and comes up with a several insights on: - media coverage: it provides a bit of social validation, but mostly useless - conferences: you will make 1-2 interesting contacts that won't make up for the huge time investment - awards: mostly coming with strings attached Reinforces my conviction that startups should be extremely careful with external attention as it is not correlated with what really matters, i.e. clients and sales. Send this to the young startup founders in your network.
