Facebook has finally released the possibility for media outlets to host their content directly on the social network, drastically reducing loading time in the process, while offering a more visual and immersive format. The New York Time is apparently participating in the experiment, and it will be interesting to follow how the big media companies react to being dispossessed of their platforms. There are advantages (no more hosting, distribution is handled by Facebook) and disadvantages (distribution owned by Facebook, a company known to single handedly make radical change on how it operates, and some sort of revenue sharing that will have to happen)
