Education robots offer leg-up to disadvantaged students

As April—World Autism Month—approaches, this article explores what are the new advances in edu-bots. Their success to help autistic students have been significant combined with the work teachers do, providing an increased engagement and a simplified social interface.

Students working with these tools are taught to "tune in to emotions, express empathy and better understand social situations". The devices are also smart enough to distinguish when a learner is paying attention, gazing, frustrated or stressed, and to adapt accordingly.
