How Robert Pattinson Became Batman

Borys Kit with a fun anecdote in the race between the actors who were vying to become the next Batman:

Pattinson and Hoult put on a suit from a previous Batman movie, as has become customary in the Bat-test process. (Christian Bale, before landing Batman Begins, performed his test in the suit used by Val Kilmer in 1995’s Batman Forever, for instance.) Did they embody the character? How did their eyes look and act? Is there a specialness to them? Those were the questions Reeves and the studio wanted answered.

When I first heard the news, I was pretty skeptical of Pattinson being a good choice here. Admittedly, not having been a Twilight fan, I'm not all that familiar with his work. He has been in a number of rather quirky movies since, and seems to get general good marks in those. Still, it feels like an odd choice. But then again, so did Daniel Craig for James Bond. So I'm willing to see where this goes...

The Christian Bale/Christopher Nolan Batmans feel so long ago already.
