Norway's doctors still use floppy disks, and they're more secure than the alternative

It's always fascinating to see what happens with a technology early on. It's equally interesting to see what happens after it's been replaced by newer and shinier toys. There must still be one company somewhere in China still producing floppies, just like there are still a few horse carriage manufacturers.

In Norway, doctors are clinging to older MS DOS-based electronic journals. As a result there’s a system in place that still employs floppy disks—and it works extremely well.
